This week, in class, we have been asking, “When did the world began?” We learned that the Earth is around 5 billion years old. The first 3 periods of time in prehistoric Britain were: stone age, bronze age and iron age. During the stone age, we learned about three different eras: Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic. The first two human-like species to exist after dinosaurs, were Neanderthals and Homosapiens. In Art, we have started a project to create a cave painting. We learned a new skill called continuous line drawing, used by Pablo Picasso. In Music, we have been learning the names of notes. For example: a semibreve is a 4 beat note. We also learned the name to describe quick, “spikey” notes, which are called staccato.

Our “Flashback 4” questions this week were:

3.What are staccato notes in music?

4.Describe the jobs of a switch, wireless access point and a server in a network.

Next week, we’ll be asking, “What are reflective, opaque, translucent, transparent materials?” and “How do historians find out about prehistoric Britain?”
