This week in Year 2, we have been reading ‘Coming to England’ by Floella Benjamin. It’s a story about a girl called Floella, who travelled from Trinidad to Southampton with her family.
This week in Year 2, we have been continuing to develop our partitioning skills and learning different ways to partition 2-digit numbers with 10s and 1s and part-whole models. In History, we have made a picture map of London and it’s various attractions from now and those that were there in the Elizabethan era. We also learned about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder plot.
This afternoon, we’ve had our second Jigsaw lesson and have had lots of good discussions about equality and our roles and responsibilities in and out of school and why these are important.
Next week, we will be asking, “How is London different to Keyingham?”
