This week in class we have been asking,

“Are all Muslims the same?” We learned that there are two different types of Muslims: Shia and Sunni. Both of them have to follow the 5 pillars of Islam, but the Shia Muslims have 5 extra. If you want to become a Muslim, you have to say some special words in front of two witnesses in a Mosque. One of the pillars is called Shahadah, which is the belief in one God: Allah.

We also asked, “Who were the Greeks?” We learned the Greeks had different city-states called: Olympia, Athens and Sparta. Some of the Greeks lived on the mainland whereas other lived on surrounding islands in the Aegean Sea. We compared the differences between Ancient Egyptians and Ancient Geeks. A difference was Egyptians had an Empire ruled by a Pharoah, whereas each Greek city-state was ruled by their own Government. In PE this week, we practised the different competitions ready for sports day.
