This week in class we have been asking, “How do we use Publisher to make a magazine front cover stand out?” We used Publisher to upload images of Ancient Greece and adding text of different sizes and colours. In History, we asked, “What buildings can we find in Ancient Greece?” We learned about the different columns such as: Doric, Ionic and Corinthian. Doric columns are recognisable because they don’t have a base. In RE, we asked, “Why do Muslims fast during Ramadan?” We learned this is called Sawm. It is the fourth pillar of Islam. They fast because they want to experience what is like to live like those less fortunate, so they can appreciate what they have. In DT, we designed and built bridges and made them strong by using features like arches and pillars to hold weight.
Our 'Flash Back 4' questions were:
- What is an anthropic rock?
- There are different types of geographical settlements: cities, towns, villages and hamlets. What is the difference between a town and a hamlet?
- What is the Trinity in the Christian faith?
- Neanderthals and Homosapiens were the first human species to exist. Which came first?
Next week, we will be asking, “Who were the Gods and Goddesses in Ancient Greek mythology?" and “What materials are magnetic?”
Our spelling rule next week is ‘sh’ sounding words, such as: publish, tension, tissue, exclamation, intention, tradition, non-fiction, population, transition, special, crucial
Next week, our PE days are Monday (outdoor) and Tuesday (indoor)
