Y1’s Weekly Class Blog

This week in class we have been consolidating our term’s learning by asking:  What do I need on my table for Shabbat? What qualities do I like in my friends? How does food affect my senses? How do I play Boccia? What is representational art?

Our Flashback 4 Questions have been:

1. Today: In computing, give an example of data and where it is stored.

2. This/last week: In Science, what is special about amphibians and reptiles?

3.This term: In Maths, give me a calculation for an array with 3 rows of 5.

4. Last term: In history, what did Henry Ford do to speed up car production?

Next term, we will be asking: In art, what are the secondary colours and how do I make them? In Religion and Worldviews, how do some Christians show God’s importance through worship? In science, what body parts do you know? In history, what might have been different in the kitchen when your grandparents or great-grandparents were young?

After half term we will be revisiting as many different sounds as we can in preparation for the Y1 Phonics Screener Check. Please read as much as you can with your child and return their reading books weekly to be changed.

Please keep working on the The Graduate Awards which you can find on the school website. If you complete one, bring in the work or send photos to admin@keyinghamprimary.co.uk, answer some questions and you can be awarded the certificate.

Next term PE will continue to be on Wednesday and Thursday
