This week in class we have been asking: In art, what are the primary colours? In science, what are the main parts of a tree? In geography, how can I draw a plan view? In RE, what happens in a Christian baptism? In Maths, what is 1 more and 1 less than a number within 10? In English, what is a noun? In Forest School, how can I turn a leaf into a bug? (see photo).

 

Our Flashback 4 Questions have been:

4. Last term: In Phonics, you all used Fred Fingers to spell words. Show me Fred Fingers to spell the number 3?

 

Next week, we will be asking: In computing, how can I make a robot move? In geography, what direction am I travelling in? In RE, what is important to Jewish people and what is the name of their special building? In PE, how can I transition from one balance to another smoothly? In Science, do all trees lose their leaves? In music, what does it mean to improvise? In art, who was Piet Mondrian? In Jigsaw, how does being proud make me feel?

In Phonics, Mrs Lawson’s group have been learning the sounds ay (play) ee (tree) and igh (night). Miss Kay’s group have been learning igh (night) oo (zoo) and oo (book), (see sounds mat in Reading Book Bag to support your child further).

PE Days: Tuesday and Wednesday just for this week. Please ensure your child has their kit including footwear as they will be taking part in a cross country event this week and that all earrings are removed on the morning of PE days.

Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please read the book several times until they are fluent and no longer sounding out all the words.
