This week in class we have been asking: In geography, what is a human and physical feature? In Religion, what is the story of Noah’s Ark? In computing, how do I combine commands to make a sequence to make a robot move? In science, why do some trees stay green all year? In maths, what does it mean to compare numbers? In Jigsaw, what are consequences? In English, what does a sentence need?
Our Flashback 4 Questions have been:
- Today: In maths, which one is wrong? 8>4 3<6 7>10
- This/last week: In science, what do coniferous (evergreen) trees have?
- This term: In RE, what is the story of Noah’s Ark? Do Christians and Jewish people believe that story?
- Last term: In Phonics, you all used Fred Fingers to spell words. Show me Fred Fingers to spell the word start?
Next week, we will be asking: In geography, what human and physical features can you see on the school grounds? In science, can you identify a deciduous or coniferous tree? In RE, why is Jesus special to Christians? In art, what colours did Mondrian like to use for his artwork? In Jigsaw, what are my rights and responsibilities in Year 1? In Maths, how can I use a part-whole model? In Writing, what are rhyming words?
In Phonics, we will be learning the sounds ir (girl) ou (shout) and oy (toy). (see sounds mat in Reading Book Bag to support your child further).
PE Days: Monday and Wednesday.
Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please read the book several times until they are fluent and no longer sounding out all the words.
