This week in class we have been asking:  In history, what is a family tree? Well done to those children who brought their own family tree in.  In science, what changes happen in winter and autumn? In Jigsaw, how can I help others? In design and technology, what slider should I use for my design? In computing, how do I add shapes to my digital picture? In maths, what does subtraction involve? In writing, how can use ‘and’ in a sentence to describe my setting?  We also, unexpectedly, enjoyed the snow in forest school this week!

Our Flashback 4 Questions have been:

  1. Today: In maths, give examples of an odd-block or an even top

2. This/last week: In DT, what are the forces you need to make a slider work?

3. This term: In history, Bluey’s family tree went back ______ generations. Who were the oldest?

4. Last term: In geography, name some human and

physical features around school/Keyingham.

Next week, we will be asking: In science, what changes happen in spring and summer? In RE, what is a saviour? In Jigsaw, how can I solve a problem? In history, how can I find out about the past? In writing, what do I need to write instructions? In Maths, what are the 8 fact family calculations for addition and subtraction?

In Phonics, we will be recapping all of the Set 2 sounds (see sounds mat in Reading Book Bag to support your child further).

PE Days: will continue to be Monday and Wednesday.

Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. I have now included the book they have been reading in their Phonics lesson as well as their reading book so they have extra to read.
