This week in class we have been asking:  In science, what changes happen in spring and summer? In RE, what is a saviour and what is the real Christmas story? In Jigsaw, how can I solve a problem?  In PE, how does the music make me want to move? In history, how can I find out about the past? In writing, how do I make a jam sandwich? In Maths, what are the 8 fact family calculations for addition and subtraction?

Our Flashback 4 Questions have been:

  1. Today: In writing, give me an     imperative verb for an instruction.

2. This/last week: In history, what sort of sources can we use to learn about the past?

3. This term: In science, what changes happen in the autumn?

4. Last term: In RE, what important things would Danny carry in his bag and why?

Next week, we will be asking: In science, how do we get night and day? In RE, what made Jesus a special baby and why do we have advent calendars? In history, what did my parents and grandparents use to listen to music? In Maths, what do we mean when we say ‘what are the properties of these shapes? In Writing, what imperative verbs can I use to write my instructions to make a jam sandwich?

In Phonics, we will be recapping all of the Set 2 sounds (see sounds mat in Reading Book Bag to support your child further).

PE Days: will continue to be Monday and Wednesday.

Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. I have now included the book they have been reading in their Phonics lesson and they can choose a ‘free reader’ from the classroom as well as their reading book so they have extra to read. If you think they need extra time to become fluent with their Phonics books, then please keep them longer.
