This week in class we have been learning: In science, how does night and day happen? In history, what transport is from the past and the present? In music, what does it mean to compose a piece of music? In Jigsaw, how can I lead a healthy lifestyle? In RE, does the Hristian story of how the world was made, make sense? In PE, how many different ways can I jump? In DT, how can make a tower stable? In writing, what is a past tense verb and how do I write one? In Maths, if I know that 14 +3 =17, what related facts can I make with this?

 

Our Flashback 4 Questions have been:

  1. Today: In writing, what do we add to make a verb a past tense verb? Give some examples.


2. This/last week: In history, name as many different types of transport as you can.


3. This term: In RE, name something that God did, when he created the world, that you think is impossible.

4. Last term: In science, what properties does a window have and why?

 

Next week we will be asking: In history, how did space travel begin? In science, what do scientists know about the moon? In Jigsaw, what healthy lifestyle choices can I make? In RE, is it possible to make something from nothing? In DT, how can I join card together? In PE, can I link my jumps together?  In writing, what is a recount and how do I write one? In Maths, how do I make the numbers up to 50?

In Phonics: most of the children are now learning the Set 3 sounds (see sound mats in bookbags to support your child with their learning). Please continue to read and change their books regularly. I have also sent home a sheet of QR codes which give you direct links to Phonics videos that we use in school which will enable you to support your child’s learning of the sounds.

PE Days: our days are Monday and Wednesday

Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please spend the week reading the three books that the children now have in their bags.
