This week in class we have been learning: In history, how have trains changed over time? In science, what words can we use to describe Spring? In Jigsaw, I understand that medicines can make me feel better. In RE, does everyone believe in God? In PE, how do I walk like a gymnast? In writing, how do I write a letter? In Maths, how do I partition and recombine 2-digit numbers and what is 1 more and 1 less than the 2-digit numbers?

Our Flashback 4 Questions have been:

  1. Today: In maths, estimate what number the

arrow is pointing to?

2. This/last week: In history, what has happened to trains over time?

3. This term: In Jigsaw, name some healthy choices

that you could make.

4. Last term: In science, why is fabric a good material to make clothes from?

Next week we will be asking: In history, how has car design changed over time? In RE, what does science teach us about how the world began? In DT, what joins should I use to make my tower as tall as possible? In PE, how can I link my jumps together to make a sequence? In Jigsaw, how can I be safe when crossing the roads? In writing, how do words make my writing more exciting? In maths, what can I use to measure height and length?

Thursday: Please send your child with a packed lunch for the trip to the Streetlife Museum. They need to wear their school uniform and suitable coats/footwear to match the weather. We will be indoors but will need to walk to and from the minibuses.

In Phonics: the children are all making progress with their reading and are doing a super job with changing their books. Please check their book bags for the QR codes that I sent home last term which give you direct links to Phonics videos that we use in school which will enable you to support your child’s learning of the sounds.

PE Days: our days are Monday and Wednesday

Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please spend the week reading the three books that the children now have in their bags. In addition, your child may come home with a ‘Little People Big Dreams’ book of their choice. If you read it with them and they are able to answer the questions on the inside cover, they can bring it back to earn more house points from Mrs White if they get them all correct.
